The Marshes of Skidaway Island resident Paul Hitch recently celebrated his 101st birthday in a unique way. Hitch, the former chief engineer for Chevy Trucks, received a visit from the current chief engineer, Eric Stanczak, to celebrate both his 101st birthday and the Chevy truck’s centennial. Stanczak brought both a new 2018 Chevy Silverado and a Chevy truck from the 1970s. Hitch was also surprised with a FaceTime call with Mary Barra, the chairman and CEO of General Motors Company. Hitch, who has always had a passion for cars, worked for Chevrolet for more than 30 years before retiring in Savannah, and claimed this was a great way to celebrate his birthday!
